PICTOPLASMAAAAAAA!
STUDIO AKA has been popping up at PICTOPLASMA since it began way back in 2004...The festival is 'devoted to the wealth of visual culture driven by character design' and we are always delighted to be asked to appear.
Recent appearances have seen MARC CRASTE give a talk at Pictoplasma Pictopia in Berlin, which followed on from his talk last October in Buenos Aires. Both appearances featured Marc presenting a look at all his work with STUDIO AKA - including his PICA TOWERS trilogy, the BAFTA winning JO JO IN THE STARS and of course the making of VARMINTS.
Meanwhile PHILIP HUNT followed up his 2 previous Pictoplasma Berlin talks in 2004 & 2006, with a bit of transatlantic chat at PICTOPLASMA's first ever International conference in NEW YORK in September 2008. Philips talk covered all of AKA's works and included a sneak peek at his Oliver Jeffers adaptation as it was nearing completion. The finished film LOST AND FOUND also screened as part of the most recent Berlin festival...Phew!
